  • PLEASE NOTE! The booking is confirmed with an advance payment of €16 for each rental day, plus a one-off €10 delivery fee. The scooter rental costs €65 per 24 hours: the remaining €49 per day will be paid directly at the property upon collection of the scooter, together with the €200 security deposit per scooter. For rentals of several days, the confirmation payment will therefore be €16 per day, while the €10 delivery fee will only be charged once.

What's Not Included

  • Fuel: the scooter is normally provided with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition. Otherwise, additional refuelling charges will apply.
  • Phone holder: not available.
  • Security deposit: a €200 deposit per scooter is required when signing the rental agreement. It can be paid by cash or credit/debit card. The deposit will be returned at the end of the rental, following verification that there is no damage to the vehicle.
     

FAQ

1. How old do I need to be to rent and ride a scooter?
You must be at least 18 years old.

2. Do I need previous experience riding a scooter?
Yes. Good experience riding scooters or motorcycles is required. The rental service does not include a test drive or practical riding test before the vehicle is handed over.

3. Do I need a driving licence?
Yes. You must hold a valid driving licence suitable for the scooter's engine capacity. For vehicles from 51cc to 125cc, an A1/B category licence or an equivalent international licence is required.

4. Which documents do I need to provide to rent a scooter?
Once your booking has been confirmed, you must send a copy of your driving licence and identity document to Reception at reception@santafortunata.eu, so that the rental agreement can be prepared and signed.

PLEASE NOTE: all non-European citizens must have an international driving licence. Without an international driving licence, the rental cannot take place. Citizens of the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Israel are exempt from this requirement and may use a driving licence issued by their own country.

5. Can three people ride on the scooter?
No. The scooter can carry a maximum of two people, including the driver.

6. Can I carry a minor as a passenger?
Yes, a minor may travel as a passenger, in compliance with applicable laws and the specifications of the vehicle.

7. I am under 18. Can I rent a scooter?
No. Scooter rentals are only available to persons who are at least 18 years old.

8. Can I take a test drive before renting the scooter?
No. A test drive or practical riding test is not available before the scooter is handed over. You must therefore already have good experience riding scooters.

9. Can I rent the scooter for more than 24 hours?
Yes. For rental requests exceeding 24 hours, please contact Reception at reception@santafortunata.eu.

10. If I change my mind and cancel the rental, will I lose the deposit?
Yes. If the cancellation is made within 48 hours before the rental start time, the deposit will not be refunded.

11. Is the security deposit and delivery fee charged per scooter or per booking?
Both the security deposit and the delivery fee are charged per scooter.

12. How long does the rental last?
The rental has an effective duration of 24 hours: the scooter is delivered at 9:00 am and must be returned by 9:00 am the following day.

13. Where is the scooter delivered and returned?
The scooter is delivered and returned near the Village Reception.

14. What is included in the rental?
The rental includes two helmets and the basic insurance coverage provided for under the rental conditions. Details of the insurance coverage are available in the FAQs and/or the rental conditions.

15. Is fuel included?
No. The scooter is normally delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, the applicable charges for missing fuel and the refuelling service will be applied.

16. Is a mobile phone holder available?
No. The scooter is not equipped with a mobile phone holder.

17. How much is the security deposit?
The security deposit is €200 per scooter and must be paid when the rental agreement is signed. It can be paid in cash or by credit/debit card and will be returned at the end of the rental, subject to a check confirming that the vehicle has not been damaged.

18. Can I take the scooter outside Italy?
No, unless prior authorization has been obtained from the rental company and, where required, additional insurance has been taken out.

19. What happens in the event of an accident or damage to the scooter?
Any accident or damage must be reported promptly to the rental company. The applicable conditions and any excesses or penalties are set out in the rental conditions.

20. What happens if the scooter is stolen?
In the event of theft, the conditions and penalties provided for in the rental agreement shall apply. You must also report the theft to the competent authorities and provide the company with the required documentation.
 

Conditions

The company rents its motor vehicles according to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Documents and age requirements: a) For vehicles from 51cc to 125cc, a national or international equivalent A1/B category driving licence is required. Minimum age: 18 (eighteen) years. c) For vehicles over 125cc, a national or international equivalent A2/A(3) category driving licence is required. Minimum age: 18 (eighteen) years.
  2. Delivery and Return. The Customer acknowledges that the motor vehicle is in good working condition and free from defects and undertakes to return it at the end of the rental period in the same condition, together with all documents and accessories. The Customer wishing to extend the rental must notify at least 12 (twelve) hours before the end of the rental period in order to obtain authorization. In the event that authorization is not granted and the Customer does not simultaneously return the motor vehicle, a penalty of Euro 150.00 (one hundred and fifty/00) will be applied, in addition to the amount due for the extra rental period. The Company reserves the right to terminate the contract and repossess the motor vehicle at any time at the Customer's expense if the motor vehicle is not used in accordance with the law and the contract, without prejudice to the right to compensation for any damage suffered.
  3. Conditions of Use. The Customer shall use the motor vehicle with the diligence and prudence of a reasonable and responsible person and, in particular, must not allow it to be used: a) for the commercial transportation of persons; b) to push or tow vehicles, trailers or other objects; c) on rough roads or roads unsuitable for road traffic; d) in races, tests or competitions; e) or driven by persons other than the Customer unless such person has been previously indicated in the contract and authorized by the company; f) by the Customer or driver under the influence of alcohol, drugs, hallucinogens, narcotics, barbiturates or any other substance that impairs awareness or ability to react; g) in violation of any customs, traffic or other applicable regulation, including any regulation that may come into force after the signing of this contract; h) outside Italy without authorization and without the appropriate additional insurance, if required.
  4. Exemption from Liability: The company shall not be held liable for any damage suffered by the Customer or third parties resulting from the use of the motor vehicle in the event of failure to comply with the conditions of use referred to in point 3 (three), or for the loss of or damage to property belonging to the Customer left in the motor vehicle, or for damages and inconveniences resulting from delayed delivery, breakdowns, or interruption of services due to force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances.
  5. Joint and Several Liability: Anyone signing this contract in the name or on behalf of another person and/or company shall be jointly and severally and unlimitedly liable with their principal for the obligations undertaken towards the company
  6. Insurance: the company undertakes to provide the motor vehicle with the following insurance coverage: a) Third-party motor vehicle liability insurance for damage caused by road traffic, with a single limit of Euro 10,000,000.00; b) Third-party liability for passengers. A penalty of Euro 300.00 (three hundred/00) is provided for each claim for which the above insurance coverage applies. This penalty shall be charged to the Customer upon receipt of the claim report or in the event of a claim for damages by third parties. Damage to the driver of the motor vehicle is excluded.
  7. Accidents: Any accident involving the rented motor vehicle must be reported to the company within 12 (twelve) hours. The Customer is obliged to record all personal details, vehicle identification details and insurance information of the other party/parties involved and communicate them to the company. The Customer must not admit liability without first contacting the competent authorities and the company and must obtain the details of any witnesses. The Customer agrees to cooperate with the company and its insurers in any investigation or legal proceedings.
  8. Damage: Punctures and damage to the wheels are the responsibility of the Customer. Where the damage is borne by the company, the Customer shall pay a penalty of Euro 1,200.00 (one thousand two hundred/00) for each damaging event. This penalty shall be charged if the damage is not fully recoverable from third parties through an out-of-court settlement. If the damage amounts to less than the agreed penalty, the Customer shall be refunded an amount equal to the difference. The amount of the damage shall be determined on the basis of the manufacturer's current price list for the motor vehicle and the applicable standard repair times. Any repair carried out by the Customer without the prior approval of the company shall not be reimbursed. Any repair, if authorized, must in any case be documented by a proper invoice made out to the company.
  9. Theft: In the event of partial or total theft of the motor vehicle, the Customer shall pay a penalty of Euro 2,100.00 (two thousand one hundred/00). The Customer is obliged to return to the company the original motor vehicle keys and the original theft report filed with the competent Authorities. In the event of failure to comply with the above, the Customer shall be charged, by way of penalty, an amount equal to the commercial value of the motor vehicle as reported by Eurotax Giallo at the time of the theft, plus the value of any optional equipment and additional fittings.
  10. Happy Holiday Policy: In consideration of a premium of Euro 20.00 (twenty/00) per rental day, it is agreed that all penalties provided for in the contract shall be reduced by 2/3 (two-thirds).
  11. Traffic Fines: All traffic fines issued during the rental period shall be borne by the Customer, who assumes full responsibility for them.
  12. Charges: The Customer shall pay or reimburse the company, upon request, any amount relating to: a) hourly charges exceeding those previously agreed, without prejudice to the additional surcharge referred to in point 2 (two), second paragraph; b) the amount of fuel missing compared to the quantity present when the motor vehicle was delivered, plus Euro 15.00 (fifteen) for the refuelling service; c) parking and towing expenses for the motor vehicle when requested by the Customer; d) taxes applicable to this contract in cases where its registration is required by the company.; e) costs incurred by the company in connection with the collection of payments due from the Customer, including legal assistance costs; f) the flat-rate amount of Euro 30.00 (thirty/00) incurred by the company for the administrative management of traffic fines issued against the Customer and motorway tolls not paid by the Customer during the rental period. The Customer who uses a credit card agrees that all charges may be made to their account and, in particular, agrees, with reference to points 6 (six) and 12 (twelve), letter f), that charges may be made to their account up to the 90th (ninetieth) day following the end of the rental.
  13. Jurisdiction: For any dispute arising in connection with the interpretation, performance or termination of this contract, the Court of Torre Annunziata or the Justice of the Peace Court of Sorrento shall have jurisdiction, with the mutually agreed exclusion of any other court, and the Customer declares that specific individual negotiation took place regarding this article.
