1. How old do I need to be to rent and ride a scooter?
You must be at least 18 years old.
2. Do I need previous experience riding a scooter?
Yes. The 300cc Vespa is designed for those who already have good experience riding scooters or motorcycles and want to enjoy the Amalfi Coast with greater power and a more dynamic riding experience.
3. Do I need a driving licence?
Yes. To ride the 300cc Vespa, you must hold a valid Category A driving licence suitable for the vehicle.
4. Which documents do I need to provide to rent a scooter?
Once your booking has been confirmed, you must send a copy of your driving licence and identity document to Reception at reception@santafortunata.eu, so that the rental agreement can be prepared and signed.
PLEASE NOTE: all non-European citizens must have an international driving licence. Without an international driving licence, the rental cannot take place. Citizens of the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Israel are exempt from this requirement and may use a driving licence issued by their own country.
5. Can three people ride on the scooter?
No. The scooter can carry a maximum of two people, including the driver.
6. Can I carry a minor as a passenger?
Yes, a minor may travel as a passenger, in compliance with applicable laws and the specifications of the vehicle.
7. I am under 18. Can I rent a scooter?
No. Scooter rentals are only available to persons who are at least 18 years old.
8. Can I take a test drive before renting the scooter?
No. A test drive or practical riding test is not available before the scooter is handed over. You must therefore already have good experience riding scooters.
9. Can I rent the scooter for more than 24 hours?
Yes. For rental requests exceeding 24 hours, please contact Reception at reception@santafortunata.eu.
10. If I change my mind and cancel the rental, will I lose the deposit?
Yes. If the cancellation is made within 48 hours before the rental start time, the deposit will not be refunded.
11. Is the security deposit and delivery fee charged per scooter or per booking?
Both the security deposit and the delivery fee are charged per scooter.
12. How long does the rental last?
The rental has an effective duration of 24 hours: the scooter is delivered at 9:00 am and must be returned by 9:00 am the following day.
13. Where is the scooter delivered and returned?
The scooter is delivered and returned near the Village Reception.
14. What is included in the rental?
The rental includes two helmets and the basic insurance coverage provided for under the rental conditions. Details of the insurance coverage are available in the FAQs and/or the rental conditions.
15. Is fuel included?
No. The scooter is normally delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, the applicable charges for missing fuel and the refuelling service will be applied.
16. Is a mobile phone holder available?
No. The scooter is not equipped with a mobile phone holder.
17. How much is the security deposit?
The security deposit is €200 per scooter and must be paid when the rental agreement is signed. It can be paid in cash or by credit/debit card and will be returned at the end of the rental, subject to a check confirming that the vehicle has not been damaged.
18. Can I take the scooter outside Italy?
No, unless prior authorization has been obtained from the rental company and, where required, additional insurance has been taken out.
19. What happens in the event of an accident or damage to the scooter?
Any accident or damage must be reported promptly to the rental company. The applicable conditions and any excesses or penalties are set out in the rental conditions.
20. What happens if the scooter is stolen?
In the event of theft, the conditions and penalties provided for in the rental agreement shall apply. You must also report the theft to the competent authorities and provide the company with the required documentation.
